Nucleocapsid CoV-1/2 antibody - HS-452 111BT

CoV2 protein N packages the viral genome RNA
Mouse monoclonal purified IgG
Cat. No.: HS-452 111BT
Amount: 100 µg
Price: $465.00
Cat. No. HS-452 111BT 100 µg purified IgG, lyophilized, labeled with Biotin.

Biotin is a small vitamin B complex molecule. Its small size minimizes interference with antibody binding sites and allows for efficient conjugation without compromising antibody functionality.
Biotin conjugated antibodies can be easily detected with Avidin/Streptavidin based secondary detection systems.
The streptavidin-biotin bond is one of the strongest non-covalent biological bonds known.

Albumin and azide were added for stabilization. For reconstitution add 100 µl H2O to get a 1mg/ml solution in PBS. Then aliquot and store at -20°C to -80°C until use.
Antibodies should be stored at +4°C when still lyophilized. Do not freeze!

Detection of SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein in the brain of a SARS-CoV-2 infected K18-hACE2 transgenic mouse.

Background

The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus type 2 (SARS-CoV2) is an enveloped positive-sense single stranded RNA virus that has been identified in the beginning of 2020 (1). It infects human host cells by docking via its spike protein (S) to the ACE2 surface receptor (2) and can cause mild to very severe and even deadly Covid-19 courses (3).
The very abundant Nucleocapsid or N-protein packages the viral RNA (4) and shares only little homology to other abundant members of the coronavirus family like NL63, 229E, HKU1 or OC43. This characteristic makes it a suitable target to discriminate between Covid-19 and other Coronavirus infections.
